THE CHURCH BULLETIN BOARD
Dr. Stancil’s topic of study this year is “Inquiring Minds Want to Know.” Everyone
is welcome to join us during the Sunday School hour from 9:15am – 10:15am
in Westminster Hall. Here is his lesson schedule:
February 25 – Does the Bible accurately depict the historical Jesus?
March 4 - Is it okay to call God mother?
March 11 – Do I have free will or are my actions determined?
Presbyterian Women is inviting the congregation to join in observance of “Skip-a-Meal a Week During Lent” (February 18 – March 18). Set aside an amount you would spend on a meal during Lent. Envelopes are provided in the Parlour for collecting the amount which will be given to Harvesters.
The first of three 30-minute Taizé services begins at 7:00 P.M. on March 9, 2018 in the Chapel. Taizé is personal meditation through candlelight, scripture, music, cyclical singing and prayer. A simple soup supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. in the Committee Room.
The ChristCare Mission Outreach Small Group will be volunteering on Monday morning, March 12th, by preparing and serving breakfast to the homeless guests at Cherith Brook Catholic Worker in KCMO. Meet up at 7:40 AM in the FPC parking lot to carpool. You will be finished by 12 noon. For information, please contact Yuri Ito by phone/text at 816.654.4284. All are welcome. The Mission Committee’s collections of pull tabs for Ronald McDonald House, Best Choice labels and box tops for education and our schools are ongoing. Please place them in the labeled containers on the Mission table in the Parlour.
The Recycle Ink Cartridges program is back per your request. The dispenser/display box is located in the Parlour and here are just a few interesting facts to know:
Reduce pollution. Cartridges do not decompose for 1,000 years.
Recyclable undamaged original cartridges (with a print head) include most Hewlett Packard, Lexmark, Canon, Dell, Sharp. Don’t know if it has a head? Bring it & dispense anyway.
You can also get empties from friends, neighbors, and small businesses. On average, a person uses 2 cartridges a year.
Don’t throw away your cartridges, just put it in a Ziploc bag or the original cartridge box and dispense in the box (in the Parlour.) Funds received for recycled cartridges go to the Youth department.
