We are glad that you have visited the website of First Presbyterian Church and hope that this will lead to you joining us on Sunday for worship, fellowship and Sunday school. It would be our pleasure to personally welcome you. Feel free to join us in either of our services (contemporary or traditional) as well as any other church activity.
When you arrive at First Presbyterian-Independence on a Sunday morning, you’ll be greeted at the door by church members to welcome you and answer any questions. Come dressed as you are comfortable, and when you are ready, join us for fellowship, refreshments and Sunday school, both adult and children/youth. Nursery with trained, paid staff is provided for infants through age 2, and children’s packets are available during worship. Children ages 3 through 3rd grade are invited to attend Children’s Church following the Children’s Message prior to the sermon. They are dismissed to parents or guardians following Sunday school.
If you are looking for a church home, we invite you to consider becoming a member of First Presbyterian Church. Sermons are available for your review online. The pastor offers prospective-member orientations periodically throughout the year, particularly as people express an interest. If you are interested in learning more about First Presbyterian Church, membership here and what it means to be Presbyterian, visit About Our Church and/or contact the pastor or church office (816-252-6662). Pastor Dave Carlson would be happy to visit with you following worship or any time at your convenience, and is eager to help with any questions or needs you may have. May the fellowship we share strengthen the ties that bind us together as Children of God.
Accessible buildings. Personal hearing devices, large print bulletins, Bibles and hymnals, and Children’s Activity Packets are available from the ushers.
